I have written this Instant Immersion Japanse
review to inform you about the product incase you are
considering buying it.
The course teaches Japanese through the use of
images, audio files of native Japanese speakers and some video
lessons but not many. The audio lessons can also be downloaded
as MP3's so this makes them really convenient too.
Included with in the course is a speech
recognition tool that is designed to help you practice the
correct pronuniciation which is a pretty cool feature.

Although the pictures and audio conversations
are a good way to learn, and most good Japanese
course include them, Instant Immersion Japanese
does tend to focus on teaching grammar text
lessons to explain how to best use words in
sentences.
Don't get me wrong this is
effective and grammar is essential, I just
prefer multimedia as much as possible when I am
learning a language and tend to switch off in
text based lessons.
Another point to note is that
the course can be difficult to navigate
through, and is not the most user friendly. As
it can take some time to work out where you
need to go next to start the following
lessons.

However in saying that there are some great
word translation tools that are easy to use and most helpful
too.
Finally one downfall of the product in my
opinion is that there is not that great a support system set
up. When you choose to do a study from home language you
obviously save money when compared to hiring a private tutor,
but you do lose the support that a private tutor provides.
Now this is important to me because when I get
stuck I need to know that I can get help. So when I look for a
course to do from home the quality of support is important to
me. Instant Immersion do have a frequently asked questions
section, but I never find any websites FAQ useful, let's be
honest. The only email support they provide is for technical
problems.
Although this is good Japanese language course
I don't think it's the best. If you want my opinion of the best
Japanese Language course available today then it's Rocket
Japanese by a long shot. Their course is
developed by the Language learning giant 'Rocket
Languages' so you can rest assured that it is made by the
pro's.

Rocket has execellent support where you can
email your learning problems 24 hrs a day and one of their
teachers will respond!! Not only that they also have a Japanese
learning forum where you can post comments and questions and
work together with other people doing the course.
Rocket Japanese has all the bells and whistles
of a quality language product and also has extra built in
language learning software games for vocabularly, Japanese
characters and more...which I have thoughroughly enjoyed and my
Japanese skills have improved out of sight using this
course.
